Loren “Bones” Stadum Athletic Memorial Scholarship

Foundation Board member Gloria Bjorkman presents Katrina Peterson
with the Loren "Bones" Stadum Athletic Memorial Scholarship.
An athletic scholarship has been established in honor of Loren "Bones" Stadum by his family and friends. Bones grew up in Thief River Falls and was the 1939 senior class president. No matter the season, there was a sport for Loren with basketball being his personal best. He was a two time member of the Minnesota State High School League Basketball All Tournament Team and played center for the 1938 Thief River Falls State Champs. After high school he received a scholarship to Syracuse University in New York and completed his education degree at the University of Minnesota following World War II. Bones became a teacher, coach, and athletic director at Greenway High School in Coleraine, Minnesota where he was able to pass on many of the lessons he had learned during his years as a Prowler. One of the proudest moments of his later years was his induction into the Prowler Hall of Fame in 1999. Loren passed away in March of 2006.
