Faculty & Staff
Faculty and staff members are given two opportunities during the course of the year to apply for a grant to further enrich current programs and to help develop new and innovative approaches to their curriculum.
Donors, Alumni, Friends of Education
The Education Enhancement Program offers access to the educational grant requests that the Foundation received from faculty and staff, but were no able to fund during the granting period. If you would like to support any of the grants and offer encouragement towards an educational achievement, you may do so by requesting information about any specific grant that is listed on our web site or request a list of grants that need funding, and upon consideration, contribute to that request.
Approved Grants
The list of grants approved since 1990 has been complied into a large list for your viewing. Grants are listed by school name. You can find a list of district-wide grants listed as "other".
Thank you to the family of Gertrude Christianson for the gift of books for the Advanced Placement program at LHS.
These books are used in Literature Circles, which is a learning strategy where students discuss and analyze literature in small groups. Each student takes on a role in the discussion such as discussion leader, journaler, key scene highlighter, literary element analyzer and so forth. This strategy allows all students to actively participate in the discussion. Besides novels and poetry, critical theory books were purchased, which help the students learn to be critical thinkers as they read and analyze the literature.
The Advanced Placement program is a national program that prepares students for college. These students enter college and their communities, not only more knowledgeable, but better learners and thinkers.
